Our organization was created by individuals who love the state parks, forests, and wildlife management areas of western Massachusetts and were motivated to volunteer their time, money, and energy to care for these special lands. You can be a part of this legacy by becoming a WMPLA volunteer and helping us complete any of a wide range of important projects and initiatives. Whether you volunteer for a few hours, a few months, or year after year, you’ll see a new side of our public lands and develop a deeper connection to them. Most importantly, as a volunteer, you will help WMPLA, MA-DCR, MA-DFW, and our partner organizations ensure that these treasured landscapes deliver valuable public benefits for generations to come.
The financial support that WMPLA receives from annual membership fees, donations, and organizational sponsorships pave the way for volunteers to provide their best work. As appropriate, WMPLA aims to offer transportation, tools, informational materials, and training to all volunteers who assist with our priority projects and initiatives. If you would like to support the work of our volunteers and the important activities they lead, we invite you to register as a member, make a donation, or become an organizational sponsor.
